Acrylic is commonly thought of first when someone mentions plastics. Available in sheet, rods, and tubes acrylic exhibits glass-like qualities clarity, brilliance, transparency, translucence but at half the weight and up to ten times the impact resistance. It is available in tinted or colored, mirrored or opaque. Acrylic is also available in sheet form with a number of coatings that can be applied for performance enhancing characteristics such as scratch resistance, anti-fogging, glare reduction and solar reflective. Incredibly durable, acrylic is a suitable solution over a broad temperature range, and has superior weathering properties compared to other plastics. Also, because it is a thermoplastic and softens under extremely high temperatures, acrylic can be formed to virtually any shape making it an ideal product for window glazing, POP displays, vitrines, and countless other products.
